The 13th Guangdong-Hong Kong Internet of Things Summit Forum was successfully held on December 12, 2018 in Guangdong Building, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. The forum was led by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology and the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The theme of the forum was about the application and technology of IoT in Guangdong and Hong Kong in order to strengthen the development of IoT between two cities, and to enhance the cooperation between Guangdong and Hong Kong. Li Xiangming, inspector of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, and Li Yangchun, deputy director of the United Front Work Department of the Guangdong Province, addressed speeches during the forum.
Mr. Vincent Cheung, president of BPS Global Group, was invited as the representative of Hong Kong's industry, together with Huawei's operation executive and representatives of China Unicom etc. to be the guest speakers of the forum. They explored various applications regarding Internet of Things in today’s smart cities.
Mr. Vincent Cheung presented the topic of “Application of Internet of Things (IoT) in the Logistics Technology”. He demonstrated the introduction of intelligent mini-stores with automatic guided vehicle technology. Combined with cloud processing technology and mobile phone application, the designated storage cabinet can be delivered to customers in short time. This solution not only greatly improved the storage efficiency but also realized the concept of “goods to person” which provides superior enjoyment to customers. Mr. Cheung’s presentation has benefited to the industry insiders with in-depth explanations.
