Envisioning New Possibilities in High-Tech Logistics Era: BPS Global and HKGCC Jointly Presents: Road to Unveil Endless Opportunities in Smart Logistics Seminar
To promote new opportunities in Smart Logistics applications and optimization, a thematic seminar - Road to Unveil Endless Opportunities in Smart Logistics jointly-organized by BPS Global Group and HKGCC was held on 19th August at HKGCC Theatre, attracted numbers of industrial professionals to exchange ideas and insights on challenges and opportunities brought by smart logistics. Dr. Y.M. Wong, Group Technical Director and Mr. Lit Fung, General Manager - IT and Automation of BPS Global, were invited to speak at the seminar, covered topics including optimizing warehouse layout design, and integrating IT innovation and supply chain logistics.
To begin with, Dr. Wong addressed that the increasing operating cost, changing commodity form, insufficient land supply, declining operating efficiency and changing business model have been the inevitable challenges encountering in supply chain logistics. As a result, he introduced the intelligent warehouse storage systems that aim to strengthen business through effective applications of Internet of Things (IoT), RFID, I-Cloud, intelligent wearable devices and robotic automation.
In addition, Mr. Fung who is experienced in warehouse automation management, explained that intelligent warehouse storage system is the cornerstone of smart logistics, hence, the insertion of automated warehousing system in existing conventional warehouse not only helps reduce labor cost but also greatly escalates the order picking speed and accuracy. Through a few applied case studies of smart logistics and supply chain across sectors, participants were able to enrich their knowledge base.
